Event Time and Date

Tuesday, January 31 2017, 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM

Rain or shine or snow, let's get our walk on! Mood Routes' weekly greenspace accessible walks/rolls are back. This time on Tuesdays, 12noon for an hour (ish). We will leave at 12:10pm sharp.

Students, staff, faculty, all are welcome. Please tell your communities, colleagues, allies, friends. Why Mood Routes? Walking together uplifts mood, decreases stress, builds community, ups creative-thinking and problem-solving, and connects us to place (every outing, at least one person describes awe at a new nearby oasis). We also build knowledge as we go, each sharing this tidbit, that fact, this event, that plant, this historical moment, that architectural feature. Mood Routes is a non-hierarchical, holistic, no-cost hour of togetherness, nature connection, and wellness. Please join us. Please help us build this amazing program. Spread the word, invite anyone and everyone. Let's plant the seeds for a groundswell. Thank you!

Learn more about Mood Routes:

Mood Routes are designed to provide the following benefits:

  • Restore attention, focus and reduces stress
  • Improve health and fitness levels
  • Increase connection to nature and improve mood

Ryerson Mood Routes are designed to provide accessible guided walks in and around campus. Please contact Deena Shaffer, Learning and Transition Programs Specialist, Academic Accommodation Support at if you require accommodations to ensure your full participation.

Mood Routes is a Ryerson Student Affairs initiative, in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association’s Mood Walks program, and encourages us to get outside not just for physical activity, but to de-stress, refocus, and re-ground ourselves. It’s easy to forget, in the middle of the concrete jungle that is downtown Toronto, to take time to explore the green spaces surrounding us. Even our own Kerr Quad offers a welcome escape for many from the hustle of the city and campus. Join us on Mood Routes in and around campus as a way to connect with nature, community, and your wellbeing.
