The Youth Mentorship Program at the Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture is a program that enables survivors of war and torture between the ages 12-25 gain the support of a mentor. It is a one year program where the mentor provides one-on-one support for the youth in areas relating to education, employment, leadership and recreation.

Throughout the year, the mentors and mentees will work on the goal and will reflect on the goal after a year.

Mentor Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Reside in the GTA 
  • Agree to a one year comittment
  • Commit to a minumum of 4 hours a month with their mentee

Our Mandate: 

The Canadian Centre for Victims of Torture (CCVT) aids survivors in overcoming the lasting effects of torture and war. In partnership with the community, the Centre supports survivors in the process of successful integration into Canadian society, works for their protection and integrity, and raises awareness of the continuing effects of torture and war on survivors and their families.
